Academic Writing

What is academic writing? Academic writing is a formal style of writing that seeks to express complicated ideas in an understandable and succinct manner. It must have a clear goal, make sense, and be supported by reliable sources of information including statistics, research, quotes, facts, data, and hypotheses. Academic style, academic reference, subject-specific terminology, exemplification, analytical and evaluative language, and academic grammatical standards are only a few of the widely accepted academic qualities used in academic writing (Wilson, 2022).
